  • Infrared light therapy offers many stand-alone health benefits. Sweating is the body’s natural way to heal and stay healthy, Infrared sauna therapy is beneficial for natural healing and prevention becasue of its ability to penetrate human tissue resukting in a deep, detoxifying sweat. It is know to assist with sleep, detoxifcation, immunity, heart health, muscle recovery, weight management, anti-aging and relaxation. Many sauna users experience relief from conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and neck and back pain becasue it warms and relaxes joints and muscle tissue.

    Infrared heat is completely safe and healthy for all living things. It is the same heat used in hospitals to warm premature babies. SoloCarbon heading technology, found exclusively in our mPulse sauna from Sunlighten, is the most proven, effective infrared heater on the market, giving you all three infrared wavelengths (near, mid and far) in the exact mix you need for specific health benefits.

  • Not in the way you might expect. Infrared saunas use light to heat your body directly rather than heating the air like traditional saunas. This means the air stays comfortably warm - usually around 45-60 degrees, compared to 80-100 degrees in conventional saunas.

    You may sweat more deeply and gradually as the infrared light warms your body from the inside out. Most people find it much more tolerable and relaxing, even if they typically d not like heat.

    When you schedule your appointment, you’ll want to select which health benefit program you want for your session so the staff can be heating up the sauna for your arrival. The mPulse sauna allows you to choose from six pre-set programs that each deliver specific blends of near, mid and far infrared for individual health benefits that include cardio, detox, weight loss, relaxation, pain relief, or anti-aging. You can also customise a setting and create your own blend of near, mid and far infrared.

  • Listen to your body and adjust based on what it’s telling you. If you feel flu-like symptoms, discontinue use and let the gym staff know. If you are unwell do not use the sauna as your body will already have a raised temperature to fight the infection.

    Everyone sweats differently. You may not sweat during the first few sessions. Sweat will increase with regular use as your body adapts.

  • Most people enjoy a 30-45 minute session, 3-4 times a week, but it is safe to use every day and at whatever heat suits you best. Research shows that regular use over time brings best results.

  • Proper sauna use is important; just like we warm up and cool down our bodies when we exercise, there are some basic steps to follow to ensure you gain maximum benefits of using a sauna.

    • To get your body accustomed to infrared therapy, start with 10-15 minute sessions at level 5 or lower.

    • Gradually increase each session towards 40 minutes. The level can be adjusted to your preference.

    • Hydrate before and after session.

  • Like nutrition and exercise, infrared saunas are a lifestyle choice that deliver both heat and light, and both provide a wide range of health benefits, which can vary by individual. All of the health benefits Sunlighten saunas may provide have been either clinically shown on our heaters or are based on studies of infrared wavelengths that we precisely mimic in our heaters. Sunlighten saunas are proven up to 99% effective at emitting the highest quality and quantity of infrared heat required for delivery of a number of health benefits.

  • Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna.

  • Red light is visible, it is a different wavelength in the range from 620-750 nm and penetrates slightly less deep than near infrared. Near infrared is invisible, is wavelength between 720-900, and penetrates the body most deeply. Sunlighten’s mPulse delivers the peak wavelengths of 650nm and 880nm. Red light and near infrared are both bioactive and are absorbed by mitochondria, blood and water cells to initiate a variety of biochemical activities throughout the body that creates many health benefits, including skin health, pain relief, muscle recovery and anti-aging. Both are natural, safe, non-invasive and side-effect free.

  • EMF (electric and magnetic fields) are waves of electric and magnetic energy radiating through space. High EMF levels are often associated with power lines.

    EMF is everywhere in our homes and offices. The electrical appliances we use (an electric can opener at close range emits substantial EMFs), computers, monitors, keyboards and mice, wireless modems, cordless phones, clock radios, hair dryers, mobile phones, microwave ovens and more – all produce EMFs.

    Although the current scientific evidence provides no definitive answers regarding EMF, there is enough uncertainty that some people want to reduce their exposure to EMF. For that reason, we have limited the levels of EMF from our heaters as much as possible.

    If you are concerned at all about EMF, our Signature and Solo contain our Ultra Low EMF Solocarbon heaters. Our exclusive manufacturing process allows us to cancel out EMF to levels that are virtually undetectable.

  • Please consult with your physician before sauna use.

  • It is completely up to you and your lifestyle. There is no data showing more of a benefit in the morning or evening.

  • Inorganic materials will refract the wavelength and really heavy materials will block it. Light, organic is the best way to go, please wear underwear on your bottom half and be sure to put down a towel to absorb the sweat. Men typically wear workout or swim trunks; women typically wear workout shorts and a tank top/sports bra or swim suit.

  • Just as you would not leave your mobile phone in your car on a hot day, we do not recommend taking mobile phones, Apple watches or other electronics in the sauna. The electronics that are built into the sauna are designed for a heated environment.

  • Just as with exercise or eating healthy, sauna use takes time and consistency to see results. You may not sweat the first few times you use your sauna, but know that sweating (and the detox that comes with it) will increase over time, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and healthy.

    After using regularly and still not sweating to your bodies potential, there could be other factors at play. Are you drinking enough water? Are you only hydrating on days you know you will sit in the sauna? It is recommended that you drink half your body weight in ounces.

  • We don't recommend leaning anything against the CELLIANT heater fabric. You can lean against the wood trim or slats if sitting upright to prevent burning yourself or the fabrics. If you find this uncomfortable, a sauna backrest is a great option.

  • Sunlighten uses innovative designs, and work closely to control the testing and manufacturing process. They provide true 3rd party documentation to back up the efficacy of their products. Sunlighten closely control their entire manufacturing process. They subject their products to rigorous health and safety inspections, including third-party tests and certifications. They’ve appointed home office employees to oversee the complete manufacturing process, from sourcing safe and sustainable materials to making regular visits to the manufacturing facilities in Asia to ensure they are providing:

  • Both technologies are ways to deliver infrared heat, but ceramic rods have now been surpassed by carbon panel technology thanks to the latter’s ability to produce a more consistent infrared output at lower temperatures given its surface area. Ceramic rods must be brought to excessively high heats, resulting in hot and cold spots throughout your sauna. All Sunlighten saunas use carbon-based technology and are the only carbon-based heaters with clinical backing.
